At Big SNOW, safety is a priority. The following video series was put together to help educate our guests on the importance of proper lift usage to ensure a safe on snow experience.   • Come to the Patrol room which is located at the bottom of the mountain behind the Hass Quad – far skier left side.
  • Ask any Big SNOW Team Member to radio for a Big Snow Patroller.

  • About the Big SNOW Patrol

    How to contact:

  • The Big Snow Patrol consists of members who are trained in first aid, OEC (Outdoor Emergency Care), CPR, and winter rescue.
  • We provide high quality rescue and emergency care services for all of the snowsports enthusiasts and guests at the Big Snow American Dream.
  • All Big Snow patrollers have completed the National Ski Patrol’s requirements and are fully trained in the emergency techniques necessary to rescue an injured or ill guest and to safely extricate, package, and transport them down the mountain using rescue toboggans.
  • The main objective of being a Big Snow Patrol team member is to assist area management by making mountain recreation safer and more fun, but there are many other benefits.

    What is required to become a patroller?

  • Must be 15 years of age or older per the National Ski Patrol.
  • Pass the Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) class which will be provided to any candidate.
  • Pass the Outdoor Emergency Transport (OET) class which will be provided to any candidate CPR for the Professional Rescuer from an NSP approved agency.
